This source receives its data from the identified ingestion,
specifically the output identified by external_reference
.
N.B. that external_reference
should not be used to identify
anything downstream of purification, as the purification process
encodes source-specific identifiers into the details
struct.
The external_reference
field is only used here for displaying
human-readable names in system tables.
